Two comments. First, who cares? Microsoft can do whatever they want.
Second, this is the Service Pack 2 Beta newsgroup. This means it is a
place to report bugs, ask SP2 Beta related questions, etc., not ask for
comments on a stupid statment speculating Microsoft's future plans for
an OS.

If Microsoft really wants to, they can get Longhorn ready when they said
they were going to. The question is how much will it cost them.

maybe it should be renamed to
microsoft.public.windowsxp.beta.sp2
or something....

This group is NOT for the Windows XP SP2 Beta.
There were both specific private newsgroups for the Technical Beta Program
and also public groups for the Preview Program.
This is an only inactive group (along with
microsoft.public.windowsxp.beta.help and support).
It should not be used for current postings. We have just not removed it.

There is no need for specific SP2 beta newsgroups as SP2 is released and the
beat over.

Sorry Mike. I figured the only thing close to beta with Windows XP was
the recent Service Pack 2. The private newsgroup is still open, so I
figured this was still open for the same reason too. I guess it could
be interpreted as anything beta installed on XP, but that didn't click
over here.

BTW, shouldn't you be off enjoying your vacation? Hope you're having a
good time ;)
