HELP!!!!!!! I am fairly new to computers but I do know a
little. My computer is new (May 2003). I am running
Windows xp Home Edition. When I bought this computer I had
a hard time downloading my scanner, printer, burner and my
dialup server. I had to down load new drivers from the
Manufacturer to get things working. I could not get my old
card games working at all. I have been having problems
with my printer and scanner off and on, with them coming
up not connected or failed to communicate. But if I
clicked them a second time they would work. Then off an
on my Microsoft works and my keyboard started doing
whatever they wanted in the middle of some work or the
curser would take off to someplace else on the screen.
This month I was going to change dial up servers, so I
down loaded their program, I also down loaded a new
mailbox service and Lister pro from eBay. Everything was
all right for about a week then nothing is working right.
My keyboard only works once in awhile, I call up one
program and get another. I try to point and drag and it
makes a copy. I am running McFee Home Edition and it says
that there is no Virus detected. I have rolled my computer
back to the first day, deleted most of my programs. I have
all the patches that Microsoft has out for Windows xp. I
talked to a repairperson and was told that Windows xp
itself doing this. That it is not a good program and to
get read of it and get Windows xp Pro or 2000. I can not
afford this. What else can I do to solve these problems?
Thanks delwingal P.S. if I do not email right back it is
because my keyboard is not working again. Please someone
let me know if this is beening read?

The description of your problem is very confusing and I can't help, but I can tell you this: the repairperson you talked with has no idea what he is talking about.

Installing XP Professional instead of XP Home will not solve *any* problems. That's because XP Home and Professional are identical except that Professional has some extra features. The only reason to go to Professional is you need or want one or more of those features. Otherwise you will see *no* difference at all.
