Hi,
I am trying to install windows XP sp1 using RIS, from a
windows 2000 server.
When I try to do this I get stop error 0x400008A
and the message "A kernel thread terminated while holding
a mutex"
this occurs when the setup gets to "Setup is starting
windows" - it justs sits there for a while then BSODS
I have correctly set up RIS (have installed 100's of win
2k images off it) but am having trouble with moving to XP
images
I think the XP cd-based image is good on the server as on
another machine the setup gets past this point.
There is a knowledge base article reporting a similar
problem to this invovling nvidia graphics cards however
the computer I am using is an everthing-on-the-motherboard
model - changing the graphics card isn't an option as its
on-board. The board is a gigabyte GA-6VML running the
latest bios (VIA PLE133T chipset). Its meant to be XP
compatible.
Has anyone got any ideas???
Thanks
