Help!!!!

I have replaced my hard drive and used Western Digitals
copy program. The problem I am having is that the Windows
operating system hangs when booting up. I tried to do a
windows instation repair revcovery using the Windows XP
install disk. It is asking me for a Administrator
password after I press the R key.

What is the password. Another question I havbe is can I
just do a install of the OS and it keep all my
applications and files so that they are usable?

Thanks,
Andrew

Andrew;
You are pressing "R" at the wrong place.

Repair Installation:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_repair_install.htm
Windows Updates will need to be reinstalled.
Data should be safe, back-up important data just in case.
Install Service Pack first and by itself.
Then install ALL Critical Updates no more than 4 at a time,

Disconnect the network/modem cable before starting repair and do NOT
reconnect the cable until repair is completed and firewall is
installed/enabled.
