There is no 100% confirmation anyone could give you. There is always the
possibility that you will lose data doing anything (or nothing) on a
computer.

By design - a repair/in-place installation should leave your program
installations and users intact.

Three points:

1. Doing a repair installation should not affect any of your data or
installed applications.

2. Despite what I said in number 1, there is *always* a possibility
that something could go wrong, and you could lose things you shouldn't
lose.

3. Doing a repair installation may or may not fix your problems.
Exactly what problems are you experiencing? What makes you think your
"Windows XP OS is corrupted"?

How do your know your installation is corrupted?

Why do you think a repair installation will fix your unspecified
issue?

With what you have provided so far, expect responses that are guesses,
maybes, mights, possiblies, shoulds and coulds.

If you supply the information that makes you think that (error
messages, etc), you will get the best advice on what to do.

Please don't piggyback on someone else's thread, it only confuses you
and the original poster.
