I have had my DELL PC with Windows XP for two weeks. Over
the weekend, it started going to the blue screen with
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
I was able to start in safe mode only.
I decided to reinstall Windows XP yesterday, and continued
to get DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL blue screen during
reinstall. I decided to format the disk, and during
format, I got the same message!
Dell tech speculates that I need a new hard drive (after
being on phone for 3 hours), but all of my tests with the
Dell hardware tests passed.... They are sending a new
hard drive, but I doubt that is the problem based on
reading here that these errors mean something is wrong
with memory or a driver. Hard drive passed all tests.
Any ideas? Thanks, Sandi
