Windows XP Registry

Some malicious programme has inserted an extra item in
the <Tools> drop-down menu of Internet Explorer. I
found and deleted the offending line item in the Windows
Registry, but when I re-opened IE the inserted item was
still in the drop-down menu. It had also been restored
to the Registry. How do I solve this??
