I have had 2 systems with XP on them stolen. Both
systems had the OS registered online. Can Microsoft tell
me if those 2 systems have been re-registered. Is there a
division or department at Microsoft that I could address
this with? I want to catch the little pricks who stole my
stuff, and if they have to register it to get it to work,
can't I get there location that way. Someone help me
please, we are a non-profit Seniors Center, and this has
to a devistating blow to us.
Thanks, very much!

The bad news is that they won't have to re-register XP. They can just keep
using it the way it is.

Shaun;
There is no way to track the computers.
If there was, the people that watch privacy issues would be screaming
very loud about it.

Is Windows XP retail or OEM?
If OEM, Windows XP was stolen with the computers.
If Windows XP is retail and you still have the CD, Product Key etc,
you still have a working copy of Windows XP you can install on any
computer.

Include all pertinent information to police and insurance company.

If they formatted the drives, they would have to ACTIVATE, which sends
no personal information. REGISTRATION in optional.

If they stole the complete system. They would even have to do that
since you've already done it for them.

Do you have the serial numbers for the machines? If so, file a police
report. That way if they try to sell the systems, you have a small chance
of getting them back. Otherwise, you're pretty much out of luck.
