Diana

I have saved instructions to get back to things before the
problem...the problem is when my computer is rebooted or
turned on..it asks for a login name and then password. I
have checked marked the appropreate things "Change the way
users log on and off", "Fast user switching" and "Show
welcome screen". I still get the same thing despite
this. The other problem is I no longer have the "startup"
on my bar. I can get on the internet, but not into my
files. Any time I try to get into my files, it states
that there is some kind of error or that some kind of
drive or what ever is missing. I would like to "turn back
the clock" so to speak, and get it back the way it was,
but with out the startup..I can't use the intructions on
the web to do this;the system restore instructions.
Please help me. My disk is unavailable at the moment and
I don't even know if that would help...someone please help.

Thanks a bunch to anyone that can.

Hi Diana,

Let's try this to get to System Restore: Right-click on your desktop
choose new > direct access.
When it asks for the path put:

C:\WINDOWS\PCHEALTH\HELPCTR\Binaries\helpctr.exe

(Supposing C is the drive where you have Windows installed, if it is
in another drive, change accordingly)

When this is run, you might be able to get to System Restore. Choose a
time when the problems had not appeared.

Good luck
