Windows XP Professional Installation

I am trying to load Windows XP Professional on Partition C, at stage 39 minutes I get a message set up requires file 'asms' from Windows professional Service Pack 1. At the base there is a path of GLOBALROUTE\DEVICE\CDROMO\1386. I have already installed service Pack 1, but not from A CD. At present the system is stuck with all data files inaccessable. Any ideas?
