I have a CD-Key for Win XP Pro, without CD. Is there any way to download a
copy from microsoft or other websites?

No, you need to obtain a Windows XP Pro CD replacement:

Not Microsoft, you might want to try a P2P network like WinMX to see if
someone has got one that matches the class of CD-Key you have, that you can
downlowd. It might be easier to get one off one of your mates. Just make
sure CD-Key matches the version\edition on the CD. I think not sure MS may
charge you 30 bucks for a replacement CD.

No, of course not, unless you happen to have an MSDN subscription.

If it was a retail license and you have proof of purchase:

If it was an OEM license, you should contact the computer's
manufacturer.

No, you can't download a legitimate copy of Windows XP from anywhere.

Where did you get it? What sort of key is it, OEM, Generic OEM, Full
Retail, Upgrade? What brand of computer? Too much information lacking to
furnish a good answer.

Once again you supply a pat, canned, copy-pasted answer without
investigating the OP's situation fully. Where'd you get the crystal ball
Carey? How much did it cost? I'd like one. I have a Magic 8-Ball but
it's not real good with computer questions.

And yet it was significantly more useful than was your response.
Haven't you got tired of having the same mindless, knee-jerk reaction?

Which response, the one to the OP or the one to Carey? And says who?
You? Who the hell are you? Some guy with an "MVP" after their name? So
what? Carey proves, time and again, that the title is virtually meaningless.

Haven't you got tired of having the same mindless, knee-jerk reaction?

If you think so; so, if you think not-so; not-so.

Look in the mirror, Bruce.

My question to you is the same as I asked JJ; what do you care? Carey
can defend himself if he so desires, but he rarely, if ever, does he
when he's been caught with his pants down.

I'm beginning to see the "blue-code" comming into play here (again).

I welcome corrections. I _get_ to actually _learn_ something that way.
Do you? Does Carey? Do either of you welcome and/or acknowledge
advisements from anyone else, or even from fellow MVPs??

MVP does not make you inhuman or God-like, you know. It's just three
letters, just like KMA is.

In your case you should consider buying upgrade versions of XP
Professional (two copies of course) as that would work out cheaper.

You could also try to haggle with the store manager if he could give you
discount for:

a) buying two copies;
b) paying by cash (not credit card)

I have found this works well as software industry is very competitive
and they want your money desperately.
