Hello,

I have Windows XP Pro on my pc and recently installed
Service Pack 2. Now when I boot up the screen that
says "Windows XP" doesn't have the word "Professional"
included. It just says "Windows XP."

Is that supposed to be the case or did I do something
wrong? The good thing is everything seems to be working
fine so far.

Thanks.

Hi

Yes, it is supposed to be like this (no "Professional" anymore).

Yes. Service Pack 2 is used for 4 different versions of Windows XP:
- Professional
- Home
- Media Center
- Tablet PC

Microsoft decided to use a common opening splash screen for all
versions rather than include separate screens for each version in the
service pack.

Your actual XP version type will still show correctly in Control Panel
- System - Properties or by using Start - Run - WINVER

Hope this explains the situation.

Good luck
