Hi all, I recently upgraded a machine from Millenium to
XP for a friend at her office, the upgrade went fine but
2 days later I lost the motherboard and she doesn't want
to replace it due to expense. She has a duplicate
machine available but when I tried to perform the upgrade
and then activation/registration to her business it says
it's already registered/activated. Any ideas? Should I
try to move the drive off the other box and put it on
this new one? Is there any way to reregister the new
machine with her Windows XP copy? She doesn't want to
spend the 180-200+ for another license since she just
paid that much for this first one and can't seem to use
it? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have the
key and business info and she is willing to make a call
to Microsoft if need be.

Thanks all,

TR

As long as Windows XP is only installed on one computer, there is no
problem.
Choose the option to activate by phone.
Call the displayed toll free number, done in about 5 minutes.
