I'm wondering how I can resolve a problem that's occurred with my system.
After pressing the restart button, I pressed the power button on my computer
while it was logging off. Then what occurred was that my operating system
wouldn't start up anymore. As soon as I turned it on, it would start up, go
to the black screen with the green light moving through the bar, and then go
completely black for a while like it was loading. Finally it would give me
this blue screen with some text on it describing the error for only one
second and then it would reboot.
I put in my OEM operating system cd, which is Windows XP SP1 and then
installed another operating system on the same "partition"? Following this, I
now have the choice of two operating systems, one of which doesn't work and
the other which does work. However, now when I place my OEM cd into it and
follow up into the Windows setup, the only operating system that shows up for
C drive is the "blahblah" one, which is the second operating system on there.
I can no longer find the original one to repair, which is what I should have
originally done before installing the second.
The main problem is that, "Document and Settings", my old files are not
available to me as they are password protected. When I go to Document and
Settings in my second new operating system account, I can access every single
other account that didn't have a password on it, the files of it rather,
whcih is what I want. Is there some way to retrieve the files?
The data is still there, since my HD is 55 GB, with only 38 GB available,
which is like it was before. That's what it displays.
I don't knwo if there's some way I can type in my password to access that
folder. Anyways, if you could help that would be appreciated.
Thank you.
