I am running Windows XP Professional, with SP2. Whenever I try to shutdown
or restart the computer, when the process gets to "Saving your settings", the
computer hangs/freezes and nothing further happens.
There is a support article on the Microsoft site that describes exactly what
is happening to my computer:
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;307274&spid=1173&sid=156
However, the causes listed there do not apply to my situation (I do not have
East Asian language support on my computer). Also, it says that to resolve
this problem, I just have to install the latest service pack...But I have SP2
and it this problem is still occurring.
Has anyone experienced this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks for your
assistance.
