Whatever happened to the step by step boot process that would allow us to find errors and in fact SKIP offending devices when they caused the hang? Anyway, I have a serious problem that is occurring on two computers. Windows XP pro is dying during the sweeping eye (Cylon eyeball ? ;-) of the boot process. Safe mode with networking works perfectly. I have SERIOUS work on one of the machines and countless programs installed there. I cannot lose this machine. Is there a way to get more information on what is the cause of the problem such as a boot log that is flushed going into a new device load and after that is successful so I can verify the problem? I run behind a carefully done Linux firewall and I have Norton this and Zonealarm that on both XP machines. I need information on how to find the offending piece and then how to skip it
