We just bought a new laptop with Windows XP Professional. The first time we turned it on we saw it start to load and then the screen went blank. We called Tech Support for the HP Laptop. We had to reload Windows. Did that and everything was fineuntil yesterday afternoon. My husband brought it home with only the battery and turned on the computer. Nothing came up. Lights were on but no screen. Then we loaded Microsoft Office on it yesterday after he took it back to his office and plugged it back in and reset the laptop. It was working fine when my husband left work last night and this morning it is not working.

Is this a laptop problem or a software problem and does anyone know what we can do about it? Should we send the laptop back?

If you had to reinstall the Windows XP operating system after only one
day of ownership, and you're stilling eXPeriencing system crashes, it's
likely there is some sort of hardware malfunction occurring. I would
suggest returning the laptop back for a refund. You may wish to visit
Dell and look at their excellent line of Dell notebook computers.
