My XP Pro Machine will not permit me to add users
or groups from the domain to a share. Only the local
machine shows in "locations". What security setting is
stopping me from adding users to a share. Thanks!!!!
I think its a Windows Update patch that caused this.

Account from outside of the machine are only available
when joined into a domain. If the machine is a healthy
domain member and you see this, then the first thing to
check is that the machine is using only the allowed DNS
servers that support the domain.

All I see is "Message Unavailable". If anyone can see this
or knows the answer could you please email me!

Thanks!

Roger,

Switched to a newsgroup viewer and can see your response
now. I think you misunderstand
my question. All my machines are on a domain. I have just
added a new XP Pro box.
I added it to the domain. I added two accounts from the
domain to the local admin group of the
machine. No problem. What I can't do is create a share
and select or even manally add users
or groups from the domain. Only the local machine shows
up in "locations". I can get to other
shares on the domain of other existing machines. It all
changed after I did all the "Critical updates"

Thanks!

MJB
