Hi -

My 4 year+ install of Windows XP was becoming weighted down and
user-unfriendly with who knows what so I just installed a 2nd drive (D2) on
my computer and installed Windows XP Pro on it with the intention to migrate
to the new drive and turn my original drive (D1) into a storage drive w/o an
operating system. I thought I could uninstall Windows XP from D1 after
moving over the good stuff but it is preventing me from accessing my D1 My
Documents folders. Should I somehow uninstall WinXP from D1 first? (not
sure how to boot up in that drive now). What's my best course of action?

To keep things really simple enter the XP thats on D1
from there format the XP on D2 out of existance.
Then transfer what you wish to safe from D1 to D2
Run the system settings backup wizard and safe that to D2
Now do a fresh new install of XP onto D1...format the drive in the
process..it will be an option during the install.
After that is up and running tranfer your files back.and restore the backup
of system settings..(dont forget your Mobo drivers..et al)
This will not work with programs..they will need to be reinstalled.
