I purchased my computer from my office when the office closed. The office
was all networked. I was able to set myself up as a new user and can access
all the programs but it won't allow me to remove any programs without using
the servers password. I have the password but because i am not connected to
the network i still can't remove programs. Is there any way of removing the
server connection to this computer completely giving myself full access to
this computer.

The best thing to do would be to format the drive and do a clean install
of Windows.

I think your computer have joined a domain so the only thing you have to
do -- Remove the domain from the computer configuration

right click "My Computer" - "Computer Name" - "Change..." - change to
"WorkGroup" and give it a name restart the computer and it will be ok...

;)

Yes, but just disjoining it from the domain like that may leave her no
way to log in at all. We do know it was joined to a domain; we don't
know if there are any local accounts on the system or if there are,
what the passwords are. In addition, there will be many settings,
possibly lots of restrictions created with Group Policy on the
workstation, as one would expect of a workstation member of a domain.

I stand by my original suggestion - it would be best for her to do a
format and clean install. When she got the computer from work, they
should have given her the operating system and any other software that
came with the machine. If they did not, the computer was no bargain
since she will have to buy XP and any desired programs.

I have the xp disks and the programs i need but it won't even allow me to
format the drive

Completely wipe the disk.
Use the HDD utility or something similar to write zeros to the HDD.
