Windows XP- My Pictures

I am using Windows XP Home Edition. All of a sudden there aren't any names
below the folders in My Pictures. I can click on properties and it tells me
the name there, but that's all.

Does anyone know how I can get the folder title to appear again?

Switch to Detail View. To turn on filenames, hold down the Shift key when you switch into thumbnail view. This will turn On the file names. Doing it again turns them back off.

Using ToolbarCop to remove the unwanted Toolband, Toolbar Icons and BHO:

What caused the computer to lose the orginial setting?

Pressing the SHIFT key accidentally while toggling the mode, may have caused this. See 2nd tip under section "Working with Files" here:
