Is there a difference between Windows Messenger bundled
with XP and MSN Messenger 6.2, If so which is better?
Why?

I'm thinking XP messenger should be better but daughter
claims MSN better becuase her friends use it??

Greetings Brad,

Yes, a rather large difference. There are several differences between the two. Most notably,
MSN Messenger 6 has support for display pictures, custom emoticons, has a different
interface, etc. whereas Windows Messenger supports SIP-based communications services,
Exchange IM Server, etc.

Better is all a matter of opinion, but MSN Messenger is geared more towards the general
market (and teens especially) whereas Windows Messenger is more geared towards the
corporate/enterprise business market.

Yes, it's possible to run both of the messengers at the
same time, but how to make them save their own email by
default?
If i save email in MSN, then Windows Messenger runs the
save account.

Hi Polk,

You can do this by using compatibility mode with Windows Messenger and then saving your
password there (which will save it in the registry as opposed to your user account).
However, if you do decide to do this, you will lose some functionality within Windows
Messenger including video conversations (audio you will still work). If you still want to
try this (completely reversible), close down Windows Messenger (right-click icon in the
notification area/system tray and click Exit), then click Start, point to All Programs and
right-click the Windows Messenger shortcut and click Properties. Then, click the
compatibility tab, and check the box next to 'Run this program in compatibility mode for' and
choose Windows 2000. Click OK and then restart Windows Messenger from this shortcut. You
should now see a different sign-in box when you login, where you can now save your password
separately from MSN Messenger.
