Hi everyone
I am having the same problems as Joan below, in that I am
unable to log on, and everytime I try to it automatically
logs me back out and takes me to the Welcome screen. I
don't remember downloading anything that would cause such
a problem to arise, but I did lend my computer to a
friend for a couple of days.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as Microsoft are
taking ages to reply to my queries
Cheers
Mark

Hey All
I have read the previous posts and it seems like a lot of
people are having this problem. However, I speak no
computer language and am not following anything that Rick
Rogers MVP was saying about keys and string values etc.
Could someone transalte into lamens terms exactly what I
need to do so that I can use my computer again!
Many thanks
Mark

Hi Ramesh,

I don't believe I have a Windows XP CD-Rom. I bought my
computer from Acer and it came with an Acer Recovery
CDROM but no Windows XP CD Rom that I can find. Is there
any way I am able to fix myh computer without such a CD
Rom?

Cheers,
Mark

Mark,

".. to start the computer and use the Recovery Console you require the
Windows XP startup disks or the Windows XP CD-ROM.

For additional information about how to create Startup disks for Windows XP
(they are not included with Windows XP), click the following article number
to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
310994 Obtaining Windows XP Setup boot disks "
