If you did not receive a Product Key (license) with your computer,
and all the proper Windows XP documentation,
then the license was not transferred to you in accordance with the
End User License Agreement (EULA). You may have to purchase
a new copy of Windows XP if your computer is non-operational.

If your computer is still operational:

In addition, did you check for a MS stick-on label anywhere on the computer
box? This will have the Product Key you need, if you find it (and if the OS
was an OEM version).

If the system is a branded box, contact the mfr and perhaps they might help
you with a new Product Key. MS does NOT support OEM SW, that is the
responsibility of the computer mfr.
