hi
i am trying to upgrade from win 98 se to windows xp professional.
i ran the upgrade advisor on my computer and received the message--

" Setup has found programs on your computer that are incompatible with (that
is, they do not work with) Windows XP. Contact your software vendors to
obtain updates or Windows XP-compatible versions. If you don't update these
programs before you upgrade, the programs will not work after the upgrade is
completed.

MS DTC (in Control Panel) "

how do i update MS DTC ? and where can i find the upgrade?

thanks!

You won't have to upgrade MS DTC. That will be part of XP. And you
shouldn't worry about your software not working as there is a Compatibility
mode you can select if needed. If you have any data that you need to save
for any of the software you should do it and then do a fresh install of XP.
Make yourself a list of folders to drop these files (your data) back into.

That is a Windowws 98 program, Distributed Transaction
Coordinator. Simply uninstall the program, then run your
upgrade.

Hi !

Uninstal MS DTC. After upgrading to windowsXp, install the software and
most likely it will work. If not try to obtain a compatible Winxp copy.
