Question one:

I am looking for the DOS directory so I can restore
a utility. I made a backup of it on my Compaq (Windows
96) using the "Backup and Restore" utility. I cannot
find this DOS utility on Windows XP? Did Bill and
company forget to put the DOS commands in XP? Or did he
hide it?

Question two:

I did a full system backup of all the files on my HP
754n when I first got it. I resently look at the box
with the backups in it and discovered that disk 8 of 8 is
missing. How do I do a full system (All the files and
fo;ders) since I already did it once? Or is this an HP
option?

Thanks for any help in these matters.

I know Windows 95 and Windows 98, but what is Windows 96?

There is no dos directory. Windows XP is not dos system and doesn't have all
old dos utilities and commands, although XP can run most old programs. If
you like to restore old backup, you first need to install that "Backup and
Restore" from your Windows 96 (or what ever). But it might be possible, that
you cannot install it. That's because backup programs are very disk
sensitive and Windows XP has much different file system. So best solution is
to get another computer and install Windows 96 (or what ever) and restore
your backup. Then copy desired files to your new system.
