Hello,

A week ago I installed Oracle 8i on XP Home. It didn't get installed
properly. So I tried uninstalling Oracle 8i.
But after restart, XP Home just hung at the user login screen itself. So I
have to completely reinstall XP Home to fix the 'hung' problem.

I read in Oracle site that Oracle does not *certify* Windows XP Home
Edition.
What does it really means, Oracle does not recommend using oracle with XP
Home ( for some user security reasons) or it is unsupported for XP Home
Edition.

Is there any patch available form Microsoft or Oracle so that I can use XP
Home with Oracle SW

I'm fully confused. Experts please help...

Regards
Kumaran

Since this is an Oracle support and compatibility issue you may be better
advised to contact Oracle Technical/Product Support for your product.
