windows xp home sp1, activation

its been months when i bought windows xp but until now
there is no activation, i am tired of visiting microsoft
websites but no result they keep o from one website to
another as if they are having fun, my windows xp is a
genuine and i hae my product key i even registered on my
first installment(i have even installed it two more times
thinkng there was something wrong with my installment) i
am new to computers so cannot explain tecnically...i will
be thankful if any body can guide.....sami

I'm not sure what your problem is, but think it is that you have a new
machine that came with XP installed, and it has not asked you yet to
activate it?

If so, this will have been authorised by the makers in a different way,
by the system checking on the 'BIOS' on your motherboard, and being
happy as long as that is the same. This is called BIOS locking, and
means you never have to activate, and can change hardware as much as you
like, as long as you keep that motherboard (or if it fails, one provided
as replacement by the makers)
