Windows XP Home Scan for Windows Update

Trying to have Microsoft scan for Windows Updates when
this error occurs: Windows Update Error Windows Update
has encountered an error & cannot display the requested
page.

What has happen and how do I correct this?

First, you need to go to internet explorers web site, you
need to manually download the newest updates and patches
for internet explorer., then you need to go to windows.com
and manually install service pack one for windows xp, this
should solve your problem, if it doesnt you need to go
download the new java engine at www.java.com. if you have
