I had my computer freeze so I turned it off without
shutting it down and now when I turn my computer on it
ask me to start in Safe mode, safe mode with networking,
last known something or other or normal and no matter
what I choose it starts to do it then it takes me right
back to that screen, what can I do it won't start windows
it just keeps that screen.

Normal is the one you want to choose > if not last known good. If you get
really stuck you could try a repair install by putting your XP CD in the
machine and setting BIOS to boot from CD following all on screen options
untill just after you press F8 to agree to licence where XP will scan hard
drive for previous operating systems - you can then press R to attempt a
repair.

Boot into Safe Mode and check Device Manager and Event Viewer to
see what is causing the problem then repair problem and you should
be fine again.
