My question is this. I have a second hard drive running in my computer.
Can I remove it and install it in a windows vista machine and still see the
information now on the disk?
Should I just save the info and then install the second hard drive in the
vista machine and put back the info?
Thank you.

Depends what info you mean, if only data then there should be no problems,
so long as the drive is connected in the correct way

If by "information" you mean data, documents, images and suchlike stuff
then the answer is yes. But if you mean programs then the answer is no. Of
course it all depends on removing the drive from one machine and installing
it on the other in a safe and proper manner.

Thank you, I do mean data so I will go for it.

If there are any folders you cannot gain access to
you will need to take ownership

(Google for instructions if needed...
but for XP Home you will probably need to boot to safe mode to do so)
