Hi Everybody!

I have a problem with my Laptop since yesturday. It
running on XP Home edition and I was trying to install an
old version of CD Creator (4.0) on it. This version
appears to be uncompatible with this OS (the CDROM drive
doesn't works after instllation) and I trying to remove it.

The problem is still there after uninstallation, the
status message said that my computer cannot access to my
drive because one of my registry key is corrupt.

CD-ROM Access Is Missing and Messages Cite Error Code 19
After I Remove Easy CD Creator in Windows XP

So I found an article in Microsoft site that talk about
this issue and propose a way to resolve it. (article base
314060)

It suggest to remove all UpperFilters and Lowerfilters
keys on a particular registry path in LOCAL MACHINE.

I do it, and now my computer freeze after it has
booting.... The XP menu is showing but I can do anything
with my mouse or my Keyboard... I thing my registry is now
corrupt and I don't know how to resolve it. I have a Ghost
disk, but it will wipe all my data and I can't do that.

I don't take a backup of my registry before... I know,
that was stupid... but It is two late now... Somedy here
can save me?... please I need Help... I want keep all my
data, I dont have Backup...

Thank you in advance

Not true. Version 5 Easy CD Creator will run if patched from the Roxio
site.

You should've checked to see if your products install on Windows XP FIRST.

Any products that do not have Windows XP in the system requirements (even
old software that was manufactured before Windows XP was available) should
be assumed to not be compatible unless you can find a statement from the
publishers that say it does work.

E.g. Office 2000 doesn't have Windows XP as an OS it can be installed on in
it's system requirements. However, Microsoft has stated on their website
that it is indeed compatible.
