If you are talking about the dllcache folder which has copies of files in
your system32 folder leave it be because it is Microsoft's system design to
enforce stability on your operating system's files.

If you are concerned about disk space 1. turn off hibernation, 2. run disk
cleanup to clear temp files etc., and 3. get rid of some excess restore
points [ look at the More Options tab of disk cleanup ]. You can also find
some delete this-n-that via Internet Options found in the Control Panel.

After deleting and cleaning up run disk defragmenter.

If you get a copy of "McAffees Uninstaller", it will scan
your computer in any manner you wish, in your case, to
look for duplicate files, and will even assist you and
warn you of their importance, as not to delete anything
critical to your system, hope that helps, and it is XP
compatible, I love it for the feature of uninstalling
programs that somehow the programmer forgot to put an
Uninstall feature on it, so left to stay on my computer,
but not anymore, hope that helps.
