Jim
I think you left out a prior step to go into the System Restore tab and turn off System Restore
REgardless, After I did the above, I was successful in getting to boot into the correct windows. But how do I delete the c:\windows.0 subdirectory with the offending second load? My disk is near capacity. I need to delete the second windows XP installed to get back to where I belong
Regards
Dal

I tried to repair windows xp home by booting from the CD
Instead of hitting "r", I hit "enter" and a new copy o
windows xp loaded
Now when I start my computer I get two choices to boo

from the one I want? Thank
It depends on the configuration of your system and how and where the ne
copy of XP was installed
If you specified a new folder for the location of the new copy and you hav
only one hard drive and one partition, it is possible you have created
dual boot on the same partition. See the link below to fix your problem

If you didn't specify a new location and have a single hard drive o
partition, you can probably just edit boot.ini to remove the entry you don'
want
