Help! I recently tried to reinstall windows XP overtop of the previous XP
version after I experienced some virus issues. I have been running XP and
its upgrades since it came out, successfully. Installation went fine until
about 15 minutes, when it got very slow. I also got a virtual memory
increase notice. It now processes one minute about every 8 hours! I'm
thinking I did not fully get rid of the virus, which is slowing my system
down considerably.
I don't know what to do. I am not able to get out of setup. I'm at 9
minutes. Is there anyway to make this go faster or fix it? Should I keep
going? Any other suggestions? -Greg

Overtop? Did you boot to the CD? What selection did you choose after booting
to the CD (eg: Repair, Delete Partition, Format and Fresh install).

Willie,
I just did a regular instalation without reformatting the hard drive.
I'm thinking this is a registry issue, since that's the point in
installation where I start having problems. -Greg
