Windows XP getting slower

i have deleted all the files in my Temporary internet files folder after that
i feel that my Laptop become slow, its open files, software a little bit
delay. please help me.

How large is your hard disk and how much free disk space?

Adding or deleting lots of files can result in fragmentation and cause
sluggishness or delay file access/program response.How long since you
defragmented the drive? Run chkdsk and defragment.
