To cut a long story short I have recently dropped a new mobo in one of my
machines went to activate it and it wouldnt allow it assuming because of the
drastic change in the hardware, However this was done successfully over the
phone and the message stating that the activation was successfull was
displayed, System worked ok for about 5 days and is now displaying the
request to activate again. Will not allow access to updates, Also the number
of days left for activation is not consistent, sometimes when the mahcine
starts up it will say for example 10 days left, If the machine is restarted
on the same day it will then say 9. (I admit tho that the time and date are
not set correct on the machine which may cause this) However the bigger issue
of why it is asking for activation again is really bugging me.

Try the following:

1. Reboot your computer into "Safe Mode".
2. Go to Start > Run and type: %systemroot%\system32
then press the Enter key.
3. Locate these two files: wpa.dbl and wpa.bak
4. Rename the wpa.dbl file to wpaold.dbl and wpa.bak to wpaold.bak
5. Reboot your computer into Normal mode.

This will force activation on the following boot, but should remove the
message that you are already activated message. Sometimes if these files
get corrupted, they can cause this type of problem.
