Window's XP Freezing

About every other time I start my computer, the computer
stalls and freezes without ever completing it loading
sequence. Does MS have a cure? Has anybody got a cure? My
computer is a Dell 8200, made March 2003 ans has a 400
Mhz bus.
 
I have the same problem with mine. What should I do?
My computer is a Toshiba stellite pro with XP pro.
