On Windows XP, right click the shared folder that contains the MS Work
file. Click Sharing and Security, then put a check mark in the box
that says "Allow network users to change my files".

WARNING: Those steps give other computers full access (read, write,
delete) to the shared folder. If, while sitting at another computer
on the network, you delete a file from the shared folder, it doesn't
go into the Recycle Bin on either computer. The file is deleted, with
no way to recover it.
