Windows xp file recovery problem

How can i retreive some important file from win xp ? The
system does not want to fully boot up . Start booting and
right after win xp welcome sceen ,flash a blue screen
with some white writing on it ,start the system all
over.Do the same thing over and over .

The easy way is to retrieve it from backup.

Here is a harder way:
- Boot the machine with a Win98 boot disk
from www.bootdisk.com.
- Get ntfsdos.exe from www.sysinternals.com
and run this command:
ntfsdos /L:EF
- Locate your important file on drive E:. It will
have a short file name.
- Copy it to floppy disk.
- Review your backup strategy.
 
i seem to know your pain - i have/had the same problem -
reloaded xp - now i dont know what will happen when i try
to re-registor )):
