I had that before myself a while ago
during installation, when the error message box comes up you can try a)

a) you can hold shift click the 'OK' button (I think) maybe a hundred times in the message box and windows will boot up

b) you do not repair, but install a second version of win xp on the harddisk. this is probably the better idea

I got win xp booted with method a) but had subsequently many blue screens of death and ultimately had to reinstall XP anyway

Hope that helps.

I had the same problem. If anyone can help you, could you
please forward that message to me at
(e-mail address removed)? I don't know why this is happening
either.

Vernon,
I had the same problem as you so I came here to look for
anwers. I left my laptop on that screen and when I went
back an hour later,it had mystteriously
disappeared.Hopefully it fixed itself. But, I also found
this message from another user. I hope that they will be
of help to you. She said:

Here are a couple of workarounds that seem to be
successful in getting by
the error and completing the install/reinstall:

1) Press Shift +F10 to bring up the Command prompt. Then
key in taskmgr.exe
in the DOS window and hit ENTER. The Task Manager should
be started. If
not, then try pressing C+Shift+ESC. In the Task Manager
window, select the
error messsage window in the application list and
click "End Task". In the
process list, terminate the unregmp2.exe program. Exit the
DOS prompt window
and resume the installation process.

2) Try holding down the CTRL key and clicking the OK
button repeatedly.

I, too, had the same problem... and in the hour and a
half it took to find this solution, my computer had gone
into standby. When I kicked it out of standby (almost
literally), the "let's finish your installation" screen
was there. Son-of-a-gun!

I am having that same problem. If anyone can help, please
message me too at (e-mail address removed) ..It is very
frustrating

Hello,

Just this day read another message about the "Unremp2 GETIUMS" error
message. Was in another windows newsgroup (sorry, I can't remember
which one). There was a step by step solution detailed.

Suggest you Google your Unremp2 error in the newsgroups area and you
should find the post and the soultion.
