Mr. Lane

Hi

I have a problem with windows XP, that after the computer
boots, and windows starts, when I first go into either My
Computer, or into windows explorer, then click on the My
Computer icon, windows will take 45+ seconds to find my
drives. The little flashlight icon comes up.

After this its fine, until the next reboot, when it does
it again. This is after a fresh install from a just
formatted drive.

Strangely, sometime when i have formatted on this
computer and installed XP, it has been fine, other times
on this computer, it starts doing this again...and I cant
find a pattern as to why.

Any help on this would be appreciated!

Thanks.

Hi Mr. Lane,

Start/run msconfig, go to the services tab and uncheck the line that loads
Windows Image Acquisition. Click apply/ok and reboot. See if this helps.
