When I copy a file from a CD or pen drive to my computer,
and then make corrections in it and save it in the same
name or different name the computer says "The disk is
full or too many files are open" though there is enough
space in the hard disk drive. Please tell me what to do.

Can't speak about a pen drive since I don't have one. But here's the secret
for a CD:

To save the file, use the program's 'save as' command and specify a full
path name for the file. If you just select 'save' then the program will save
the file to the same path it came from, meaning your CD, which is not
writeable. By specifying a different path -- to a location on your hard
disk, for example -- you can update the file and save the changes.

First, make certain that you remove the read-only bit
from the file (after copying it from the CD to your hard
drive) before editing the file. (Doubtful, but) perhaps
that will resolve the problem. For more information
see the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

Attribute While You Copy Files from a CD-ROM in
Windows 2000

And if it does not, and if the "file from a CD or pen
drive" is a Word document, find the version of Word
you are running in one of the titles below, and see if the
Resolution in the Microsoft Knowledge Base Article
solves the problem (each contain the phrase:
The disk is full or too many files are open)

document, and none of the above helped solve your
problem you may want to try posting to a Word

Now that's an interesting observation. One that had not occurred to me. I
need to remember that one.
