Windows XP "Downgrade"

We purchased a laptop with XP Home SP2 installed and I want to upgrade it to
XP Pro using our organization's volume licensed software. Unfortunately, the
media I have for Pro is pre-SP2 so the upgrade won't work because Windows
thinks I'm installing an older version.

I thought I could uninstall SP2, but it's not listed in the Add/Remove
window (Yes, I have "show updates" checked). Only the most recent hotfixes
are shown.

I could reboot and install Pro from the CD that way, but I'll lose the
software that shipped with the computer. Is there any way to get around this
restriction and upgrade to Pro?

Make a new Windows XP Pro CD with SP2 "slipstreamed",
then perform the "Upgrade".

Either one of the following utilities makes slipstreaming
(integrating) SP2 into Windows XP a breeze:

or

AutoStreamer 1.0.33 (preferred)

Carey & Jupiter,

I knew about slip streaming although I hadn't created a slip streamed CD yet
and I wasn't sure if it would work in this situation. Thanks for the link to
the slip streaming utility Carey, I'll use it to make the CD.
