i have 524mb of memory which the bios see's on start up but when i check
system info and directx it only shows 64mb i have checked in the boot.ini
file all ok
any ideas?

i have downloaded the program and it found nothing wrong
i have even tried new memory and still the same,
i have also re installed win xp and it still only see's 64mb
could it be the bios settings?

Two thigs. First, it is impossible to have 524 MB of memory. You can
have 512 MB of system memory, so I am guessing this is what you are
thinking of. Second, what exactly are you looking at when you see 64 MB
in DirectX. Something tells me that is how much video memory you have,
not system memory. Right click on My Computer, click Properties, and
see how much memory it says there ;)

sorry i meant 512mb i have done as you have said and it say's 64mb
i have also checked the taskmanager it also say's 64mb
i would like to get to the bottom of this problem as it is making my
computer very slow !

What amount of memory does the BIOS display? You may need to update the
BIOS or even try a clean install of Windows and see if that fixes the
problem.
