On my Windows XP, when i insert new floppy disk, floppy
drive does not refresh the content. It continues to load
content of previous disk. This happens until I reboot the
system. I did all Windows Updates, and it does not work.

Not sure what you mean by all this, but try this, put
this disk in and if it tries to install, exit the
installation, then open My Computer, click on the C drive
and remove the disk. Also check your autoplay settings
for the disk drive you may want to disable it
temporarily. It also sounds like this install did not
complete properly, so also uninstall this item from
add/remove programs, reboot the PC and try again. Hope
this helps.

Try removing the floppy drive in device manager, reboot, and let Windows
reinstall it. If that doesn't resolve the problem, it is probably a
hardware problem. One of the lines in the floppy interface (#34) is a disk
change signal. A failure in the drive or cable can cause a failure to
refresh.. (More likely the drive in my experience.) The best way to
verify this is part substitution of another cable and drive if available.

Richie:

I have the same problem. It has nothing to do with
installations! The problem occurs with data disks (i.e.
backup of files). XP simply refuses to update the disk
contents when you double-click on the floppy icon in My
Computer. Also, once the device window is open,
selecting "Refresh" from the View menu does NOT refresh
the window, even if no disk is in the drive. It should be
noted that this feature has worked properly for me until
just recently.
