Windows XP Display Settings not saved in Profile on Exit

I set my display setting to Windows classic, my screen saver to photo
show, and change my desktop wallpaper. When I reboot, all my settings
are reset to the defaults, though the display box shows that Windows
Classic is selected, not XP. I am running the new XP Media Center
version. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?
