I go to My computer then tools and select Error Checking.
It tells me I need to restart.
I restart.

A blue screen comes on and says can't open Volume.

That's it. It won't run the disk check.

Computer then reboots normally.

Any help appreciated

Is this the first time you have run chkdsk since installing Zone Alarm
Firewall version 5? If so close everything in the task bar, including ZA
itself, then use it's own uninstaller to remove it. Version 4.5 is quite
adequate and does not have the same problems as version 5. You can get V 4.5
from the ZA site. You might want to download it before you remove version 5.

You can read all about it in ZA's FAQs and notice boards.

Richard.

I can't find the Zone FAQs about this but I got rid of ZA v 5 and
everything worked.

Thanks.
