When I click on My Computer, R Click Drive C, then
Properties, and then Disc Cleanup it starts to work and
then freezes. It does this repeatedly and will not let me
clear temp files, etc. How Can I do this manually, and what
files can I safely delete?

Thank you

I'd suggest running a "disk scan" from the properites of C
drive, then Tools tab. Make sure "Automatically Fix
errors" is checked/enabled. It'll probably say it needs
to schedule the task for your next reboot...just say yes,
that you want to and reboot.

As far as cleaning up temp files, it's not super straight
forward to do by hand. You can do a search for any file
with .tmp as it's extension (the last 3 letters in it's
name). Also there's a temp folder in your "profile"
(where Windows stores your personal files like documents,
favorites, emails, etc). It's usually in C:\Documents and
Settings\USER_NAME\Local Settings\Temp (where USER_NAME
is replaced with your actual user name). This folder may
not show up if Windows is setup to hide it's files (which
I believe is the default). To change the option in File
Explorer go to Tools->Options->View then look for options
that indicate that they're hiding files from you. If you
change this setting be very careful what you delete. Up
till now Explorer has tried to protect you from
yourself ;).
