after installing windows xp , i keep getting
Remote procedure call(RPC) service terminated unexpectdly - system will shut
down in 40 seconds...

I dont even have time to download SP1a to see if thats going to sort it out
....

How do you uninstall this damn XP? or fix it?

This has been happening to me the last several days, too.

My problem appears to be a hardware/driver type issue. Lots of MSIE MSOE
crashes and a few BSOD's.

My guess is a graphics/AGP prob. This is on a new laptop -- alwaysw bugs.

thanks but XP professional got it fixed
;)
I had this problem too when installing Windows XP Professional with BT
Broadband using a Voyager 100 ADSL USB Modem. I finally solved this
problem by activating the Windows XP firewall before I went online for
the first time and it worked a dream. Apparantly this problem is caused
by a worm. So activate the firewall before you go online for the first
time and that should solve all your problems.
